Issues: Transportation

Mark Dudenhefer is already a local leader when it comes to transportation issues. He slugs into DC and understands the frustration commuters experience on a daily basis. After a driving accident took the life of his beloved daughter, Mark worked in earnest to improve road safety in Stafford County. As a result of his concerted efforts, twelve of the most dangerous stretches of road in Stafford County have been earmarked for substantial improvements. Five are currently under design or construction including Mountain View Rd west of Mountain View High School.

In addition, Stafford's transportation network is undergoing a major improvement and overhaul. Upgrades have already begun on Garrisonville Road, and Courthouse Road. These will soon be followed with major upgrades to the Falmouth intersection, the widening of U.S. 17, improvements to the Onville/610 and Mine Rd/610 intersections, U.S. 1, Mountain View Road, the I-95/630 interchange, and the addition of a thousand new commuter parking spaces.

Fixing transportation problems is personal for Mark and he has the proven experience to fix our region's transportation gridlock. As our Delegate, Mark will advocate for funding for the widening of Rt. 1 in Prince William and Stafford counties, fair funding allocations to local governments to fix secondary road problems and he will work with the DoD to mitigate BRAC related traffic congestion.
